Family beauty tips that work

I’ve joined a few of the tips & tricks that my mom, sister, and I use regularly. Some handed down…some discovered on our own…but all have given us great results.

  1. Add a drop of contact solution into your mascara if it is getting dry and clumpy. Makes it more liquidy.

  2. Mix one pump of liquid illuminator or bronzer with your body lotion for an all over glow.

  3. Tweeze your eyebrows after the shower as your pores will be open and it lessens the pain.

  4. Day at the beach and you forgot your hair products? Dab a dime-sized amount of sunscreen in your palm and distribute through your hair to add moisture and avoid frizzies.

  5. To exfoliate your lips, brush your lips lightly with your toothbrush. This reduce chapped lips and help lipstick go on smoother.

  6. Use conditioner instead of shaving cream when shaving…hair softens and you get silky smooth skin.

  7. Before dying your hair, rub vaseline on your hairline, ears, and neck to avoid staining the skin.

  8. Mix sea salt + baby oil for an awesome body scrub. Don’t exfoliate too much as it dries the skin…once a week should be good enough.

  9. Cool cucumbers and tea bags are great for relieving under eye bags. Make sure you wet the tea bags, cool them in the fridge, and squeeze most of the liquid out before you apply to the eyes. Lie back.

  10. First thing in the morning, drink a glass of lukewarm water with a squeezed lemon. It has many health benefits for the immune system and skin, among others. Check it out: 10 Reasons Why You Should Drink Lemon Water in the Morning

  11. I use Rapid Lash a lash enhancing treatment that helps to grow your lashes while you sleep. Key: Be consistent. You have to wear it every night for a good couple of weeks before you see results.

  12. Try your best to sleep on your back. Sleeping on your face can cause wrinkles in the long run. Apparently, satin pillow cases help with this, but I haven’t tried these yet.

  13. Baby oil on a cotton ball works great as a make-up remover.

  14. For a teeth whitener, after you put toothpaste on your toothbrush dip it in a little baking soda and brush away!

  15. My sister swears by this: put toothpaste on a new pimple overnight and it will be dried out by the morning.
